For those who have their Georgia driver's license suspended or revoked due to DUI, Georgia law requires attendance and completion of a DUI course at a state-approved school. Before you are permitted to enroll in such a course, an assessment test is required which generally costs $75. This assessment consists of 130 questions used to evaluate the extent of your alcohol or drug use and how it affects your driving. Once you complete the assessment, you must enroll in DUI school, which consists of a 20-hour program which generally costs $205 plus $15 for books. These costs have been originated by the state and are non-negotiable.
Attendance policies at Georgia DUI schools are very strict. Those who are late to classes will generally be turned away and may be required to re-enroll at full cost. Those who miss a class or leave early will also be subject to the same rules. Completion of the course, with an earned certificate, is required to fulfill court mandates and to get a license reinstatement. Online DUI courses are not permitted to fulfill the Georgia DUI school requirement.
