Passenger Killed in Drunk Driving Accident

An accident involving two sedans and a semi truck resulted in serious injuries which led to the death of one of the passengers. 21-year-old M.A. was reportedly speeding on the 10 freeway with a 20-year-old passenger when she ran into the back of a semi trailer around 1:30 in the morning. Another sedan then ran into the back of M.A.'s vehicle causing the two to be trapped inside as their car was crushed between the semi and the second car. Police and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and were able to get the two young women out of the car. The 20-year-old passenger was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition where she later died. The driver of the semi and those in the second car did not suffer any injuries. M.A. suffered moderate injuries but was released from medical care and then taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
