About 2nd DUI Charges
A second DUI charge can result in substantial penalties if a conviction is obtained. Punishment can include driver’s license suspension, hefty fines and imprisonment. A second drunk driving conviction within five years of the first can mean that your license will be suspended for five years and it may be required that an ignition interlock device be installed in your vehicle after the suspension is up. The Kansas legal system comes down hard on alleged second-time offenders of DUI laws so make sure you have a strong advocate aggressively backing you up.
