DUI Checkpoint to be Held in Lodi County
Posted on Aug 8, 2011 7:15pm PDT
A recent press release from one police department announced a DUI checkpoint being held this week at an undisclosed location.
Any driver going through the DUI and license checkpoint between 6:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. can be subjected to a license check and/or a sobriety test. If an office has any reason to suspect that you are under the influence, you will be asked to submit to a battery of tests. If you fail, you can be arrested immediately for DUI.
Those who are arrested and convicted of DUI can expect a variety of criminal punishments, from paying large fines to DUI classes, license suspension and even jail time. This is all in an effort to reduce drunk driving across the state. While DUI related deaths have decreased significantly since 2007, nearly 23 percent, the Lodi Police Department hopes to drive these numbers down even further by holding DUI checkpoints regularly.
If you have been arrested for DUI, don't wait to seek help from a DUI attorney near you!
