Gerard Lawson of the Browns Arrested for DUI

In Cleveland, Gerard Lawson, the Browns' defensive back, has been arrested for driving under the influence

A spokesperson with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department, John O'Brien, said that Lawson was taken into police custody on Sunday.  Prior to his arrest, deputies saw him leaving the scene of a downtown accident.  Police were able to stop Lawson a few blocks away from the collision.

Lawson had to appear in court on Monday and documents did not show that the NFL player had obtained legal representation.

General manager for the Browns, Tom Heckert, said the team is looking to gather more information about the arrest.

Charged with DUI?  Now is the time to get a local DUI attorney involved who can help you combat your charges and avoid harsh penalties.  If you are convicted, you may have to serve time in jail or pay hefty fines, which is why it is always a wise idea to have a lawyer on your side.
