Tucson DUI Task Force Made 79 Arrests

Tucson, Arizona - a task force arrested 79 drunk drivers this past weekend during a
DUI crackdown in Tucson.
According to law enforcement, 13 underage DUI arrests were also made. Since Thanksgiving, there have been a total of 130 underage DUI arrests in Tucson.
Over the weekend, the DUI task force stopped over 1,400 drivers. They say that while there were many arrests, they also encountered 26 sober designated drivers at DUI checkpoints throughout the city.
The task force is comprised of Southern Arizona law enforcement agencies and has plans to conduct checkpoints every Friday and Saturday night until January 1, 2010.
Officers report that there have been a total of 287 DUI arrests since the Thanksgiving holiday.
