Over the course of the next seven days, law enforcement in both Brentwood and Livermore are planning to increase DUI checkpoints. Police departments in these regions are also planning to have more drivers license checkpoints in addition to sobriety stations.
Police will have checkpoints in areas where there has been a history of DUI arrests and also DUI accidents. If people are driving through Brentwood or Livermore, CA, they should expect to be delayed while officers check their licenses and look for signs of intoxication.
The checkpoint in Livermore is expected to proceed throughout evening hours this Saturday. The Brentwood checkpoint has been scheduled for August 21, 2009.
Both checkpoints will be paid for with grants which have been provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
