In Chico, it is reported that a woman was arrested two times for driving under the influence while operating with a restricted license. Police say that the defendant, 60 year old Janis Gross, was first arrested for suspicion of DUI on May 25th. Officers stopped Gross after they saw her driving on the curb, placed her under arrest and released her from police custody the next morning.
Following that incident, Gross was given a 30 day restricted license. That very same day, police stopped Gross again for suspicion of DUI. She was placed under arrest, but the terms of her suspended license were not affected by her second DUI arrest.
Two weeks following her latest arrest, Gross was pulled over for a vehicle violation by police who arrested her, yet again, for suspicion of DUI. She had her vehicle impounded for 5 days, but was able to continue driving. However, until her hearing occurs, the terms of her restricted license cannot be changed.
Have you been charged with DUI? Are you wondering what will happen at your DMV hearing? If so, you should consult with a DUI attorney as soon as possible.
