Justin Blackmon Pleads Guilty to Aggravated DUI

The wide receiver Justin Blackmon has been waiting for his trial since he was arrested for a DUI a few weeks back. The Jaguars football player will receive a one-year deferred sentence as long as he fulfills the terms of that sentence. He’ll also stay out of jail. Instead, Blackmon was given 50 hours of community service and a $500 fine.
More than likely, Blackmon will be forced to enter the NFL's substance abuse program before he can play out on the field. While Blackmon is a first-round draft pick, Blackmon is still not signed. Blackmon has been in DUI trouble before. In the past, he has been arrested for a DUI complaint. His former offense was in 2010, and Blackmon was suspended for a game by his coach at Oklahoma State.
In his most recent case, Blackmon started by pleading not guilty to his charges. However, the police claimed that he was speeding 60 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. He was also issued to BAC tests. On the first, he registered a 0.24 percent, and on the second he registered 0.26 percent. This is over three times the legal limit, which is a mere 0.08 percent. With no way to argue the concrete evidence, Blackmon’s lawyer suggested that he opt for a plea bargain instead.
He is worried that the Jaguars will give him less money on his rookie contract now that he has been involved in this tumble with the law. That may be one of the reasons that he has not actually signed his contact yet. If you have been charged with an aggravated DUI, and there is a lot of evidence against you, then a plea bargain may be your best deal too.
