Driver Side Swipes Big Rig While Drunk

One woman is lucky to even be alive after side-swiping a big rig last week in California. After she was treated at a local hospital the woman was charged with driving under the influence.

Police were called to the scene of a serious car accident last week on a California highway. According to eyewitness testimony, the woman was driving on the highway when she drifted over the center lines. She narrowly avoided being struck by a big rig and instead sideswiped another vehicle. While that car was sent into a fire hydrant, the drunk driver crashed headfirst into a SUV.

Luckily, nobody else but the drunk driver was injured. She was brought to a local hospital and then booked for DUI. The highway was closed for half an hour while police and emergency road crews cleaned up the wreckage.
