Drunk driving arrests kept officers in California busy over the New Year's Eve weekend. All of the reports are in and so far they show that arrests for this year exceeded those for last year.
According to the California Highway Patrol, there were 932 DUI arrests during the last weekend of the year. This was a slight increase from last year when 873 motorists were detained. Twelve people lost their lives as a result of being behind the wheel drunk or falling victim to someone else that was intoxicated. These figures are just for the roadways patrolled by the CHP. The total number of arrests and deaths could be much higher statewide.
If you have recently been arrested for driving under the influence, you could be facing serious criminal charges. However, it is possible to fight your charges and win but only with a
DUI lawyer by your side, so don't wait to seek legal representation.
