Another politician has been detained on suspicion of drunk driving. As with many others, Assemblyman R.H. claims that he was not under the influence at the time of arrest. According to the police report, 36-year-old R.H. was driving in Contra Costa County when he caught the attention of a police officer. He was driving without using any turn signals and was also weaving across the roadway, the officer notes in his report. The officer administered a field sobriety test and then arrested the assemblyman on suspicion of DUI.
Once he was brought to the jail, police took blood work from his as well. The results of the blood work will not be returned for several days. If the blood work coincides with the officer's initial report of DUI, the department will ask the county prosecutor to press charges. The assemblyman has already spoken publicly about the arrest, stating that he had some wine with dinner but was not intoxicated. Facing DUI charges? Now is the right time to get a DUI lawyer involved that is committed to helping you fight your charges.
