DUI Leads to Three Car Accident

Not only did a young woman cause a three-car accident, but she took the life of one driver as well.
Police documents show that the 22-year-old woman was heading east on a highway when the car directly in front of her started to slow down. Unfortunately, the woman was traveling too fast to decrease her speed, causing her to rear-end the vehicle. The impact was so severe that she pushed the other vehicle into oncoming traffic where it was struck head-on by a pickup truck.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old male, was diagnosed at the scene as having a collapsed lung and serious head trauma. However, he died after being airlifted to a medical facility. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were lucky to receive minor injuries, along with the woman who caused the accident. She has since been charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter causing a fatality.
