Jockey Found Guilty of Vehicular Manslaughter

Nearly three years after taking the life of a teenager in a DUI accident, one man was found guilty of the crime by a jury this week.

According to the court record, the former jockey was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter for killing a teenager on December 6, 2008. Since he was first arrested for the DUI accident, a book has been written about the offender, providing details about his life as a jockey.

Based on what the author reports, the jockey was forced into an early retirement when he failed a drug test. He brought even further shame to himself when he tried to ride in a race under his friend's name in a different country and was later discovered.

The man is expected back in court next week for sentencing. For vehicular manslaughter, the former jockey can expect to spend at least ten years behind bars, if not life depending on how lenient the judge is feeling at his sentencing.

Anytime you have been charged with a DUI related offense, it is important that you hire a DUI attorney as soon as possible who can help you fight your charges.
