San Jose Councilman Arrested for DUI

Authorities confirmed this week that a San Jose City Councilman was taken into custody for a DUI.
The DUI arrest happened early Saturday morning when a California Highway Patrol officer noticed that the councilman's car had a nonworking tail light. However, when he approached the vehicle, the officer detected a strong scent of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Several field sobriety tests were administered, all of which were failed by the councilman.
He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for a misdemeanor DUI; he was released a few hours later. In a statement to his public, the councilman apologized, saying that he "made a terrible error in judgement" by getting into his vehicle after drinking with his friends.
