Having Knowledge of Field Sobriety Tests

If you are ever arrested for DUI, you should be aware of the field sobriety tests that law enforcement officials are allowed to use on you.
The three tests have been mandated and approved by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. After performed several tests themselves, these three tests are now deemed to be the 'standardized field sobriety tests.' They are the one leg stand, the walk and turn, and the horizontal gaze nystagmus.
Although these are the only three approved tests, officers are also allowed to use non-standardized tests. These can include: recitation of the alphabet, counting backwards, standing with the feet together and tipping the head backwards, and counting the number of fingers that an officer raises.
If you have recently been asked to complete field sobriety tests, you are in need of a DUI attorney. Don't hesitate to call a lawyer; you can fight your DUI charge!
