While all DUI accidents are serious, one in Santa Rosa was especially so as it involved three young children.
Christian M. Galvan, 23, was driving on Laughlin Road around 6 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control of her Chevrolet Tahoe. The SUV struck a guardrail on the south side of the road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat. Two of the three children riding inside were ejected during the crash that left the Tahoe overturned in a ditch.
Galvan, along with her two daughters, were ejected from the SUV. Her 2-year-old son was still strapped into his child safety seat when officers arrived on the scene. They later arrested her for drunken driving and child endangerment. While the driver and her 6-year-old daughter were taken to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with just minor injuries, her 4-year-old daughter was taken to Oakland Children's Hospital with injuries that are unknown but didn't appear to be life-threatening.
She was also driving with an expired license.
If you've been charged with causing a DUI accident, now is the time to get a DUI attorney involved in your case.
