Man Charged with 82 Year Old's Death

A man has finally been charged in the death of 82-year-old Vincent Russo. The Onandaga County District Attorney's office has charged 58-year-old Michael Iannettoni with vehicular manslaughter, changing his original charge of DWI.

The accident occurred on Jan. 9 around 7:30 a.m. when Iannettoni crossed the center line of Buckley Road and struck Russo who was driving south at the time. When rescue crews arrived on the scene they had to cut open Russo's car to free him. However, by the time that he was brought to University Hospital, it was too late.

Iannettoni was also brought to University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is now being held in the state prison.
