Driver Causes Accident While DUI

Tragedy hit the Village of Lynwood last week when Roel N. Valle, 64, caused a fatal crash as a result of drunken driving.

He has since been charged with one count of reckless homicide and one count of aggravated DUI involving death by the Illinois State Police department. Roelle was driving the wrong way down Route 394 when he caused the fatal crash that killed Melikah Little, 32, when he hit the Chrysler that she was traveling in. The driver of the other vehicle, Angelina Jones, 27, was critically injured in the DUI accident

Officers with the state police had officially stated that speed and alcohol were the primary causes of this accident that involved several vehicles. However, Jones did not walk away empty-handed as she was also charged with DUI, which is a Class A misdemeanor, as well as several traffic violations. She is set to appear in court on Feb. 28; Valle is still being held until a bond hearing on Tuesday morning.

If you've been charged with drunk driving, now is the time to consult with a DUI lawyer who can help you.
