City Attorney Arrested for DUI

During early Saturday morning hours, the city attorney of Chino and Rialto was allegedly placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Allegedly, California Highway Patrol officers from the Santa Fe Springs station placed Jimmy Gutierrez under arrest at 1:52 AM on Fairway Avenue, which is just south of the 60 Freeway in the City of Industry.

According to Gutierrez, he was driving on the freeway when police officers stopped him because he was swerving.  They asked that the consent to a field sobriety test and he chose to provide a blood sample at a hospital.  At this time, the results of the test are still pending.

Gutierrez said that he and a few friends had a few glasses of wine with their dinner.  He said, "Although I felt that I wasn't personally affected by the dinner and the wine, the officer believed my driving might have been impaired."
