San Jose Teen Charged with DUI & Auto Theft

According to new sources, a 15 year old boy was arrested in San Jose after he led law enforcement on a high-speed chase from Danville to Walnut Creek, where he was finally stopped by police and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

The minor, who does not have a driver's license, had tried to escape the police by crashing his car into a patrol vehicle shortly before his arrest.  Thankfully, no one sustained injuries during the collision.

Police report that the incident began at approximately 2:40 A.M. today when a police officer noticed that the young man was driving over 90 miles per hour while heading south on Danville Boulevard.  Police made an attempt to stop the car, but the car merely sped away, striking a road divider before heading onto the highway.

The officer phones for back up, who were able to corner the suspect in a residential neighborhood.  That is when the suspect rammed his car into the patrol car and where he was arrested.

The boy is not being named because he is a minor, but he was found under the influence of alcohol by the police who had arrested him.  It was later discovered that the car the young man was driving had been stolen.

Immediately after his arrest, the young man was booked into Juvenile Hall in Martinez County.  He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, DUI, motor vehicle theft and evading officers.
