Delaware Fire Investigator Charged with DUI

In Wilmington, Delaware, a fire investigator was recently charged with driving under the influence (DUI).  The investigator was charged by law enforcement after he crashed his city vehicle while he was off-duty.

The man, 43 year old Terence Gadson, was broadsided on November 11th by another driver who was operating a stolen vehicle at the time.  The driver of the stolen car and his passenger still have not been found

Police report that they were able to smell alcohol, in Gadson's car, which is partially why he was charged with DUI.  After being apprehended by police, Gadon was escorted to a local hospital where he took a blood alcohol test.  His reading was .08%, which is within Delaware's legal limit.

Gadson has worked in the fire department for 15 years, but he is currently on modified duty until he is able to recover from the neck and shoulder injuries he sustained during the DUI accident.  The fire department says that once the DUI charges are resolved in court, they will conduct their own private, internal investigation.
