Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)
Blood alcohol concentration, also referred to as blood alcohol content or BAC, is a term used to describe the concentration of alcohol in a person's blood. This is most commonly associated with DUI and DWI cases, as each state has particular laws regarding the legal limit for a driver's blood alcohol concentration in order to operate a motor vehicle.
In order to determine a driver's blood alcohol concentration, after a driver's arrest law enforcement will request to take a breath test or blood test. This test will then show a reading of the level of blood in the driver's breath/blood and therefore whether he or she is above or below the legal limit.
