Randy Travis Arrested for Wild DUI

Randy Travis has been in trouble for driving intoxicated before. The country superstar has received a lot of bad press this year since his arrest for public intoxication and messy details following his divorce from his wife hit only months apart. The “I’m Gonna Love you Forever” singer was put into the news again when a driver saw him lying in the road naked. A driver moving down the highway saw the man lying on the asphalt, and was worried that he might have died in a collision. There was no car in sight. The caller appeared much shaken up in his conversation with the dispatcher, and told him that he “found a guy lying in the road.” He also said that he didn’t have any shirt on. The dispatcher asked the caller if the man had been in a wreck, but the shaken voice on the phone responded that he was scared and didn’t want to get out of his vehicle.

The caller had no idea that the man on the side of the road was a famous country crooner. Originally he said that he thought he body may have been that of a deer, but noticed that it was a person upon closer inspection. There were a couple of orange cones scattered around the site. Police arrived at the scene to find a naked Randy Travis reeking of alcohol. The star uttered threats as they picked him up to take him to a local jail. When told he needed to take a blood and breath test, the star refused. He was forced to comply with a blood test after police were given a search warrant. The drunken singer allegedly crashed his Pontiac Trans Am about a mile away. The vehicle was stuck in a barrier in a construction zone, and the star had started walking when he collapsed from dizziness.

The police hoisted him into their rover without any clothes on, and then forced him to wear a paper suit. The 53-year-old threatened to shoot and kill the officers that were working on his case. He was booked on a felony retaliation and obstruction charge in addition to a DUI misdemeanor. A lawyer rushed to the jail where Randy Travis was booked in order to give him clothes to preserve his dignity. He was photographed and featured on TMZ wearing a Texas Longhorns had and an oversized blue shirt. The lawyer said he only wanted to do the right thing for the celebrity.

He told Randy Travis his name, offered his services, and said that a slew of paparazzi were waiting outside the jail to get photographs of him. Travis does not have a lawyer at present, but this generous clothing donor said that he is there if Travis needs him. The singer was released on a $21,500 bond, which was reportedly paid by a country music fan. The fan also arranged his transportation him. The singer will appear in a Dallas court for his charges.

Travis apologized to his fans for the actions.
