Jason Wheeless is a distinguished criminal defense and DUI attorney, bringing nearly two decades of specialized experience to his practice. Additionally, Jason is notably one of the few Spanish-speaking criminal defense attorneys in the area east of the Cascades.

His legal career began in 2005 as a public defender in Pendleton, Oregon, where he honed his skills in criminal defense. Jason’s journey also took him abroad to Spain, where he worked in a public high school and studied at the Universidad de Cadiz, enriching his global perspective. He then spent a significant part of his career in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he represented clients in a variety of criminal matters, including serious violent felonies, immigration crimes, state habeas corpus cases, and some appellate work, in both state and federal courts.

In 2020, Jason returned to Central Oregon, where he continued his dedication to criminal defense as a public defender in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson Counties. His work encompassed a wide array of adult and juvenile delinquency cases, with a particular focus on DUI and other criminal defense areas.
