Father Charged with Daughter's Death Following DUI Accident

This week, the father of a 12-year-old girl who was killed during a car accident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence as well as vehicular manslaughter. The California Highway Patrol announced the arrest on Wednesday.
Police say that 45-year-old Rudy Fritz remained in the hospital due to injuries sustained during the DUI accident, which occurred on Saturday. During the collision, his daughter Kelley Fritz was killed.
Rudy Fritz was driving on Route 76 when he lost control of his vehicle and steered into oncoming traffic, which led to a collision with a Buick Regal sedan.
Both the father and the daughter were ejected from the vehicle and the 12-year-old died 20 minutes later said the California Highway Patrol. Neither the father nor the daughter was wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
